Brooklyn Baithak is built on the belief that music is meant to be shared. We create intimate spaces where emerging artists can find their voice, grow in confidence, and connect with a community that genuinely shows up to listen. We celebrate raaga-based music and creative expression because we believe culture stays alive when it has a community behind it.
We Are Raaga Adjacent
Raaga-based music is a traditional form of South Asian classical music built around melodic frameworks called raagas. Each raaga is designed to evoke a specific mood, feeling, or time of day guiding how a performance unfolds rather than following a fixed composition. It's rooted in centuries of oral tradition, with room for improvisation, deep listening, and genuine expression in every performance. At Brooklyn Baithak, we love this tradition and we take it seriously. But we also make room for artists who want to push it, reinterpret it, or bring something entirely their own into the form.
